Anzac Day Long Weekend 2016 Update

Its been a busy few weeks leading up to and including the Anzac Day long weekend.  We have been busy using Gumtree to its full potential and turning relics of my youth (aka junk I've been carting around with us for years) into cold hard cash.  We then turned some of that cold hard cash into a new quad bike for the boys.  Welcome to the family Blue Beast.

Personal Access Door

The shed came with a kit for a personal access door but we never got around to fitting it when we built the shed.  Finally over the weekend we did and I must say it is fantastic.  I didn't realize it would make such a difference.  It's really nice to be able to slip in the side door when you need something out of the shed without having to open the main

More Earthworks

We hired the mini excavator for a weekend.  Primarily to sort out and level the area for the carport but we also cleaned up a lot of rock around the orchard, leveled the area for the vegetable patch, dug a services trench from the main tank down to the new poly tank near the chook pen and various bits of driveway maintenance.

Rain

We made it through summer without resorting to buying water (it was touch and go towards the end)  Finally we have had some good falls of rain, including 43mm last weekend and another +20mm this weekend.  That means plenty of flow into the tanks.  We are hoping for a wet winter and early indications are good.
