Time for an update

It has been quite awhile between posts as life in the house moves on.  The start of the school year has meant a slow down in the rate of progress but we have still been getting things done.

Some of the jobs we have tackled include

  • Kitchen wall cabinet handles
  • Cornice and plastering in the ensuite
  • Selling stuff out of the shed to make room for new toys
After a spate of really hot weather we relented and got air conditioning installed.  It has been pretty mild temperature wise ever since.

We are firmly looking forward to the first rains of winter.  All around us people have been buying water but we still have around 50,000 litres left and are hoping to make it through.

The weekend just been saw a concerted push to paint Lachy's room.  We have the process down pat now - move out the furniture, first sand, final coat plaster, final sand, sealer coat, plaster any little defects, ceiling 2-3 coats, wall colour 2- 3 coats clean up and move back in.  Generally takes 2-3 days to complete and create lots of dust and mess that no matter how hard you try seems to propagate throughout the house.  Just our bedroom and ensuite to go.

Making Chilli Relish

It's that time of year to pick the chillies and make some chilli relish.  This lots not quite as spicy as the last but certainly tasty.
