Pumps, Painting and the Pink Room

The pump is back and plumbed in.  The Davey repair guy found a little rubber plug jammed inside the motor that must have made its way in there during the manufacturing process.  It didn't come out of the pump itself.  He had never seen anything like it before.  Anyway the pump is back in service and going strong.  Just need some rain to start filling the tanks.

Internal painting has begun in earnest.  Starting with the spare bedroom getting it ready for Brian's visit.  Then moving onto the sewing room that Brian helped us paint a lovely shade of Pink called "fairy wings" with the addition of glitter.  If we were competing in House Rules I think this room would be our first 10/10.  Just as every guy deserves a shed, every girl deserves a pink room and Melinda now has hers.  Now to make some shelving and move in the sewing machines.

Meanwhile the shed is slowly getting a bit more organised.  We can actually move around in there now.  Each extra box or piece of furniture moved out is another step closer to having my shed back.

End of the cornice

All the cornice is up (barring the en-suite that will have to wait)  We have now moved the excess cornice out of our lounge room and it looks like a lounge room again.

Installing the new pump

We installed the new pump Saturday afternoon.  It died Monday night.  Not happy Jan.  Back to running off the el-cheapo bunnings pump until the new pump comes back from the repair shop.  We altered the plumbing so we can switch between the 2 tanks by connecting the cheap pump to the small tank. We did this so we flick a couple of valves and pump water from the small tank back into the big tank.  Thankfully we got rain in the night so we have some water in the small tank again as we pumped most of the water across to the big tank Monday afternoon.
