11th January Update

Lets start with a safety share because safety is no accident. Today's safety share subject is gravity and it's effects on the human body.  So my lesson to you all is when you are at the top of a ladder and you are cutting a veranda batten and you are very unbalanced and the ladder is wonky make sure that you are somehow anchored to something other than the batten you are cutting because falling backwards off a ladder means gravity takes over and it really is quite amazing the velocity you can achieve over a couple of meters.  Anyway bruised ribs and a sore back, nothing broken, moving right along.

 Finished carport

Another busy week and we look back and it is hard to see progress as much of the work has involved small ticket items.  The carport at Nan's end is finished.  All the roof bracing is done.  The eaves battens are done.  The valleys are finished.  All the windows along the front of the house are installed and we have completed the first section of cladding which has given us plenty of insights on how to install the cladding we have chosen ("NuLine" by BGC).

The roof sheeter has been up and measured the roof and hopes to start next Friday (fingers crossed)

  1. Verandah and carport look great, even a bit of siding in one photo! Glad you're ok though bruised ribs can be a pain for a while, hopefully not too bad. :-)
