Slow Progress

It has been a few weeks now since planning approval came through and we have been waiting for final drafting and engineering to come through.  These are taking longer than anticipated.  The final piece to this puzzle will be energy efficiency certification and design compliance certification (CDC).  Then we can submit to building.  So still looking at around 3 weeks till earthworks commence.  In the meantime here are a few pictures showing some of the things we have been doing around the block.

We have started removing the trees and vegetation around the building area. The bigger trees will be pushed over by the loader when the earthworks start but we have been working on some of the smaller trees.

The first fruit trees have been planted.  Four citrus trees along the southern boundary.  The rest of the orchard needs to wait until we clear the larger trees from the building area because when we fell these they will land on the area we have set aside for an orchard.

Being winter up in the hills we have been having bonfires most weekends to keep warm and try and get the fuel load down on the block before bush fire season.

The campfire with BBQ plate set up has been getting a real workout with a fry up of bacon and eggs becoming a Saturday morning staple.
